Tony Backhouse and the Backroaders is a new style of tourism that allows people to experience being part of a touring show, not just sightseers. Commencing in Brisbane we will enjoy 3 days in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Lamington National Park, rehearsing our repertoire and exploring the surrounding rainforest before we hit the road. Adopting a base in the Byron hinterland we will sing and tour little hippy towns like Nimbin and Mullumbimby, as well performing in gorgeous towns like Bangalow and Byron. The gigs will be professionally advertised with poster runs, press and radio. Yep … lock up your great grandmothers - Tony Backhouse and the BackRoaders are coming to town.
As the Backroaders rehearse under the brilliant Tony Backhouse's tutelage, Yani ChoirMistress will nurture and train singers wishing to perform as soloists or simply to improve their vocal performance.
Your leader, Raymond Hawkins - aka the Electronic Swagman - brings his years of experience leading walks in remote Australia and as a tour manager with some of Australia’s greatest rock bands.
